Ramadan Benefits - Lesson 2 September 18th, 2008

LESSON 2: Drawing closer to Allah

This is achieved by reciting and reflecting on Al-Qur’an during night and day, attending the taraweeh prayers, remembering Allah, sitting in circles of knowledge and, for those who can, making umrah. Also for those who can, making I`tikaaf (seclusion) in the last ten nights of Ramadan, so as to leave all worldly pursuits and seclude oneself in a mosque just thinking of Allah, so as to bring oneself closer to Allah (SWT). When one sins, one feels distant from Allah. That is why one might find it heard to read the Qur’an and come to the mosque. However, the obedient worshipper feels closer to Allah and wants to worship Allah more, because he is not shy from his sins.

Tips to Earning Rewards from Allah. 14 of 15 September 15th, 2008

14. Giving charity and spending in the way of Allah: Allah (SWT) says in the Quran, “Those who spend their wealth by night and day, privately and publicity, verily their reward is with their Lord, and there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve” (Al-Baqara 274). And Allah also says, “And spend of that which We have provided you before death comes to one of you and he says, ‘My Lord if only You would reprieve me for a little while, then I would give alms and be among the righteous.’ But Allah reprieves no soul when its term comes, and Allah is aware of what you do” (Al-Munafiqoon).

Ramadan Greets You! August 27th, 2008

Ramadan Greeting Card

Ramadan "6th" year.

We invite you brother/sister to join us in this blessing month and enjoy it day after a day, to seek Allah’s (SWT) forgiveness and mercy as well. In this blessing month, Allah (SWT) completed his message (The Holy Qur’an) to his last prophet Mohammad peace be upon him.

In addition, if you do not feel that you’re doing enough for your lord, try to do and keep doing in this blessing month to be closer to him. Most people say next year, but how about this year?

Instead of watching TV, read the Qur`an. Believe me you are wasting your time watching a program which is always disrupted by advertisements when instead you can be closer to God by spending the same amount of time you spend watching TV in reading the Qur`an.

If you are at school or work, why not use up your free time reading the Qur`an? Reading the Qur`an has many benefits especially in the holy month of Ramadan.

1. The Qur’an will intercede for us in the day of judgment.

2. Reading the Qur’an fulfills an Islamic duty.

3. The Qur’an will lead you to Paradise.

4. For each letter you read in the Qur’an you get 10 rewards. As an authentic hadith in At-Tirmithee proves:
